Genetic diversity diminishes as you travel away from Africa, reveals a new study which has established the most elaborate world map of genetics to date.
American geneticists recently produced the most detailed map of genetic variations across the globe, after studying the DNA of 485 people spread over 29 areas of the globe, and relying on 500,000 pairs of base DNA. The first finding: Genetic diversity decreases as you move away from Africa.
As such, there is greater diversity, genetically, among Africans then there is among mid-east peoples, the latter being themselves more genetically diverse than Europeans and Asians. The study carried out by the Univerity of Michigan also revealls that 'Native Americans' are the least diverse population in terms of their genetics. This is explained by the late arrival of the Homo Sapien into the Americas.
This has allowed scientists to conclude that there is an immediate corelation between migration and genetic variations among a given population: Migrations tend to erode the genetic variety of a group. Also, it appears to provide further confirmation that human life did originate on the African continent.

With the original migration away from Africa i think its fair to say the genetic diversity would certainly diminish, but with the migration that happens today the diversity is likely to increase, it would certainly be a surprise if it went the other way. So its conclusive my ancestors were African. I was reading a study today that stated that they believe northern europeans skin tone changed to a lighter tone as to increase the vitamin D the body made through sunlight as we switched from hunter gathers to a farming diet. It would help with the understanding of how white skin people are linked to the original dark skin africans.
